Project Overview
Forum Telecom Haïti is organized by GESTE-Haïti as part of World Telecommunication and Information Society Day (May 17). It started as the Haiti Telecom Expo, held on May 17 and 18, 2011 at the Karibe Convention Center, and became Forum Telecom Haïti in 2016. The 2017 edition, themed "Les mégadonnées pour un méga-impact" ("Big data for a big impact"), took place on June 24, 2017 at the Hotel Royal Oasis with more than 20 panelists. The forum brings together telecom companies and specialists to discuss network and service development and the social impact of technology in Haiti, under the theme of entrepreneurship in technology for social progress.
The Challenge
The organizers needed a website that explains the forum and the international day behind it, presents the event, its panelists, sponsors and team, and lets people sign up. The content is in French for the forum's audience in Haiti.
The Solution
We built the event website with these sections:
- About: the history of World Telecommunication and Information Society Day and of the forum itself.
- The Event and Objectives: what the forum covers, such as how radio, television, mobile phones and the internet can help Haiti with unemployment, education and public administration.
- Panelists, Sponsors and Team: who speaks, who supports the event and who organizes it.
- Registration and Contact: a sign-up page with a countdown to the event, and the organizers' contact details.
